This woman just appeared, my body relaxed right as she started talking.
Yesterday I got up and went for my usual walk around my local headland a run up the steep stairs and I decided finally today’s the day to start running again. It felt good in my body to run. I used to run a lot in my 40s and since landing after menopause, it’s something my body seems to be calling back in.
My beautiful friend from interstate called and we were chatting about everything as we do most days. She’s in a cold part of the world and I’m in the tropics so I think she feels like she has a holiday when she calls.
Then I had a conversation with my husband who is away working and that’s when my day started to become quite profound. It’s not unusual for us to go quite deep in conversation first thing. We’re not here for small talk. We happen to be talking about childhood trauma and some things that were coming up for me around my family. At my age, its not unusual to shed a tear in a conversation. I’ve given myself full permission to feel all of my feelings without shame. I love this about me. I certainly love that about my husband.
I parked the car was time for my morning coffee which is such a ritual for me. I walked into my local busy cafe found a spot pulled out my journal had my first sip of absolutely divine coffee looked down at my book and started writing things I’m calling in and I felt a hand on my right arm, very gently and I turned and this beautiful older than me Woman, turns out she’s 71, and she ays “It’s so lovely to see you writing, look at us, I have my trusty pencil here with a rubber on the end and I just love it.”
She was so sweet her energy was very gentle.
I was meant to sit down in the cafe that morning and have the conversation I had for the next hour with that woman. She had so many messages for me that I needed to hear. Her wisdom was spot on for me and I was there with all ears. We both shared some tears around pregnancy loss, our mother’s getting older, living in northern New South Wales, she is from Byron Bay originally Brisbane and I am moving to Murwillumbah In three weeks. I’ve been on the Gold Coast for 40 years. I have been working as a Doula for 30 years and she is an ex midwife. I mean if you know me, how aligned right.
Before she walked away she said to me, “There’s something really beautiful coming for you where you’re moving to,there’s something really beautiful coming. They’re very lucky to have you in that town. They’re going to know you are there.”
I don’t know what that is but it felt beautiful to hear at the time. She had given me her card and asked me to text about my closing of the bones offering for her daughter and we have since sent a text to each other saying how lovely it was to meet and chat.
The universe is always conspiring for us, always sending a subtle and sometimes completely obvious signs that we are loved, abundant, looked after, safe and cared for. Ask for signs, look for signs and be open to all of the messages from beautiful strangers.
With love, Meags x
